The area is awesome, the food is amazing, the customer service is also on par but not amazing from an arrival perspective. Felt we had to check in as we were late although we were 1 hour early for the latest check-in time of 5PM. The room is all in one, which is a put-off when you have a bathroom with toilet in same room as the bed and shower etc - this can be a bother. No aircon but a fan. The food, I will mention again, and the customer service next morning, and area, is great otherwise. I will not say it is worth 2k per evening though.

Great city break with good restaurants and places to visit within walking distance. Nice stay and friendly hosts. The upper Cape has its own charm.

Many thanks to Peter and his team to make my 2-day stay unforgettable. The French influence in the Malay quarters of Cape Town was quite a surprise. Bedroom with the most beautiful view of Cape Town made me feel at home. Great value.
Explore an old part of Cape Town, small streets, buildings close together. Nicely painted, clean and tidy environment. Car just sleeps in the street. There is a wait though. We just walked to the nearest restaurant for dinner.
However the front desk lady was literally physically chasing us out of the room on the of check out only because we were a few minutes late. She was handling our personal belongings and throwing them into our bags. Completely rude and unprofessional. She even told house keeping to start cleaning whilst we were closing our bags and checking if we had not left any belongings behind. Horrific experience and then she still insisted we give her our food voucher for the headache we caused her. We were flabbergasted.
The accommodation is of high end and De Waterkant is one of the best areas in Cape Town.

Beautiful place with excellent location and friendly staff. The room was fantastically equipped and although it felt like I was in the middle of everything happening, it was still quiet and safe. It is walking distance to wonderful restaurants and attractions. The food at the restaurant was also top notch!

Not my kind of place. The room furniture was a mix of stay-over furniture with no theme. The towels were in a holder on the opposite wall of the bathroom. No air conditioning in December during a heat wave.
Although the meals at The Charles Cafe were a bit overpriced, they were very tasty. It also had a very homely feel and is excellently located.
Convenient, but a toilet without a door is unpleasant.
